Zandra Rhodes joins forces with ethical fashion pioneer People Tree

Zandra Rhodes CBE, the iconic British fashion and textile designer will today unveil a capsule collection in partnership with pioneering ethical fashion brand, People Tree.

Consisting of six pieces, including an iconic Rhodes kaftan, the collection will be expertly crafted using organic cotton and hand painted silk in Rhodes signature bright prints and feminine silhouettes. It will also be manufactured in India at Fair Trade and artisanal tailoring groups used by People Tree that provide opportunities to marginalised communities.

In January this year Rhodes visited the organic cotton fields and Fair Trade groups in India with Safia Minney, MBE and CEO of People Tree. “My life’s work has been creating original clothing for women to wear and feel fabulous about them and the ‘icing on the cake’ now is that I have the opportunity to design with a conscience. My collaboration with People Tree is taking me on a new journey,” said Rhodes in a recent interview.

The range will be on display at the People Tree stand within the directorial section of Pure London. Zandra Rhodes and Safia Minney will be discussing their collection on the Grand Hall Stage today, Monday 11th Feb 2013 at 13:45.
